Patrick Quinlan
Director of Training
PATRICK QUINLAN is a graduate of Maryland Law School. He served as a Law Clerk to United States District Judges James C. Paine and Daniel T.K. Hurley before joining the State Attorney’s Office for the 15th Judicial Circuit in 1994. He later worked as an Assistant County Attorney for Palm Beach County and for fifteen years as a litigator at the West Palm Beach law firm of Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley. He returned to the State Attorney’s Office in 2017 as its Director of Training. Pat has twice received an annual Pro Bono Award from the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. He served as a President and Director with Hope House of the Palm Beaches. The father of a blood cancer survivor, and now a blood cancer survivor himself, Pat frequently speaks at public events on behalf of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and he is a past President and current Board member for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Palm Beach County chapter.
Robert Scavone Jr.
Appellate Lawyer
Robert Scavone Jr. is an appellate lawyer with Florida Appeals. He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk at Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal and at the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Before joining Florida Appeals, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Robert is a member of The Florida Bar’s Appellate Court Rules Committee and the Code & Rules of Evidence Committee. He is also a member of the Broward County Bar Association’s board of directors. Robert served on The Florida Bar’s Criminal Procedure Rules Committee for 6 years.
Robert is an adjunct professor at Florida International University College of Law where he teaches Florida Constitution Law. He is the creator and host of Summarily – A Podcast for Busy Lawyers.

This course is approved for 1 skills credit in Pennsylvania and 1.25 in Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee; 1.5 credits in Virginia; 1.5 Law Practice Management in Kansas. NDAA has applied for CLE credit in Texas based on state requirements and guidelines. All other attorneys seeking self-study CLE credit should contact their state bar for more information.
Upon completion of your on-demand course, you will be required to complete a quiz before accessing a CLE Uniform Certificate of Attendance for the recording. If your state accepts self-study credits, you can submit this certificate directly to your state bar. In states that have pre-approved this course, NDAA will submit attendance.
